No. 25 ... Otonashi-bashi

音無橋。 東京・北区、 王子駅のすぐそばにあります。 1930年の建設当時、 この場所は石神井川の川筋だったようですが、 河川改修により石神井川の本流は現在飛鳥山下をトンネルで抜けています。 しかし、 地元の方々を中心にした運動の結果、 橋は保存されることになり、 橋下に 「音無親水公園」 が整備されています。 橋の形態や構造は御茶ノ水の聖橋に似ていますが、 聖橋が単一のアーチであるのに対してこちらは3径間あります。 写真は中央の径間を写したものです。 （撮影: 2001. 4. 7., 大きい画像 (JPEG): 369kB）

Otonashi-bashi (Otonashi Bridge), located just near Oji Station in Kita-ku, Tokyo. The bridge was originally constructed in 1930 to cross Shakujii River. After the postwar improvement works, the route of the river was changed, and it now flows into a tunnel. The local government once had a plan to remove Otonashi-bashi. However, thanks to the movement against the removal, the plan was changed, and the bridge was preserved together with "Otonashi Shinsui Park" just underneath. The structure and the exterior of the bridge resemble those of Hijiri-bashi bridge of Ochanomizu, Tokyo, but while Hijiri-bashi is of single span, Otonashi-bashi is a triple-span bridge.
