This year (2003), we can enjoy an exceptionally beautiful coloured tree leaves in Britain, mainly because of the hot summer which lasted until September, after which the temperature suddenly dropped to normal autumn chill.

The photograph was taken at the Vale in the Campus of the University of Birmingham. The high-rise building behind the pond is for members of staff -- not for me, though, because all the flats are for families, not singles like myself...
