Last updated 20 May 2003 Class 91 Locomotive, dwelling at York StationPhotograph taken on: 14 September 2002. (Larger image) Class 91 electric locomotive dwelling at York Station. The fleet was introduced together with Mark IV coaches during the late 1980s when East Coast Main Line was electrified. It is sometimes called IC225 because the maximum design speed is 140mph (225km/h). Even now, however, the maximum operating speed is limited to 125mph (201km/h). Both track and vehicle show sign of deterioration, and the ride quality is far from satisfactory. After taking this photograph, I found the news that the fleet will receive mid-life overhaul.
