Last updated 18 June 2003 British rail statistics -- no improvements in performance index
The regular release of "last year's rail statistics" by the SRA (Strategic Rail Authority). According to the report, there was no improvements in the performance index in the last fiscal year. Especially, the introduction of the new timetable last October resulted in the chaotic situations seen in some part of the rail network, which would inevitably have had the impact on overall statistics. However, I doubt the statement by the SRA that the chaos was produced by "too many trains in service", and as the countermeasure the reduction in the number of services at the bottleneck in the network would be done. Can it be the real countermeasure? Click here when the copyright notice appears on the images. TAKAGI, Ryo webmaster@takagi-ryo.ac (c) R. Takagi 2003. All rights reserved. |
