The Tube (London Underground) seems notorious for the heat in the summer. So much so that the operator displays posters at every station, urging passengers to "always carry a bottle of water" as a precautionary measure to the heat deep underground. THis must be why Ken Livingstone, Mayor of London, head of the GLA (Greater London Authority) which took over the management and operation of the Tube, offered £100,000 for the idea to "cool the tube".
