The Lock at Stratford-upon-Avon

The Lock at Stratford-upon-Avon

Photograph taken on: 27 May 2002.

A lock in Stratford-upon-Avon, a sightseeing spot near Birmingham, famous as a birthplace of William Shakespeare. This lock is to overcome the water level difference between River Avon and the canal wharf. The lock is completely manually operated, and the boat operator should operate the lock himself or herself.
