新潟鐵工所 事実上倒産

東京証券取引所一部上場の新潟鐵工所が、 主力事業のひとつエンジニアリング部門の不振で資金繰りに行き詰まり、 27日夕方に会社更生法の適用を申請、 受理された。 負債総額は2270億円で、 製造業では三田工業 （1998年8月、 負債総額2056億円） 以来の一部上場企業の大型倒産だそうだ。

エンジニアリング部門とは工場建設や設備構築などにあたる部門だそうだが、 これ以外にこの会社は鉄道車両についても実績の多い会社で、 新交通システム （例：東京の「ゆりかもめ」）・ 超低床路面電車・気動車・気動車用エンジンなどを手がけている。 実はお世話になった方もたくさんいるので、 心配である。

日本の不況の深刻さを感じないわけにはいかない。 とりあえず、 まずは再建の行方を見守りたいと思う。

As another proof of even further deepening trouble of Japanese economy, Niigata Engineering, a Japanese manufacturer, went bankrupt on the evening of Tuesday with the debt of JPY 227 bn. The company had manufactured, along with many others, railway systems, rolling stock and components, including rubber-tyre AGT systems (e.g. Yurikamome system in Tokyo), ultra-low-floor "metro-tram" cars, diesel cars and engines. I am quite worried because there are many people that I know very well there.
